Dear God,
Make it so that envy and selfish ambition may not be allowed to take root in my heart. I ask for your forgiveness and for the strength to resist these temptations. Help me to focus on what is good and true, and to pursue wisdom that comes from above. May my words and actions be marked by gentleness, humility, and grace, and may they bring life and hope to those around me.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

If you are selfish and have bitter jealousy in your hearts, you have no reason to boast. Your boasting is a lie that hides the truth. 15That kind of “wisdom” does not come from God. That “wisdom” comes from the world. It is not spiritual. It is from the devil.
